This code constitutes the basis for all aspects of preparing, writing, and implementation of Environmental Impact Assessment for Roads and Highways Projects.

This code encompasses the various stages of EIA study including screening, developing EIA Terms of Reference, scoping and public consultation, legal framework, environment baseline, analysis of road project alternatives, analysis of environmental impacts, environmental mitigation and  monitoring measures,  environmental management plan and additional requirements.This code solely addresses road and highway projects and does not address buildings, industrial projects, and other civil projects
